I want to thank you for a wonderful hunt, a true adventure and an enduring friendship.
As you know, I had hunted Alaska multiple times prior to our hunt in 2016. To say your area is game rich would be an understatement. It’s hard to believe but when I reviewed my hunting log, we saw a total of 41 moose and 21 of those were bulls. The amazing thing is you called 12 of them within bow range and 7 of them were legal size. During my previous 3 moose hunts with other outfitters I saw a grand total of 7 moose. Maybe we just hit it right but it’s undeniable the amount of bulls in your hunting unit.
There were so many memorable events it would be hard to mention each one but one that stands out is when we were heading back to camp at dusk and that young bull ran down the embankment and jumped out in front of the boat….now that’s excitement! Seeing a brown bear on the first day, the encounters with eagles, the fantastic silver salmon fishing and the list goes on. I couldn’t have dreamed of a more perfect adventure.
Your knowledge of the area and your incredible ability to navigate the jetboat through the river system were amazing. Your lifelong experience with moose and bears was evident by how easy you made It look calling in all those bulls. An often-overlooked quality in a guide is safety, I felt your camp was safe and feel you conducted yourself in a safe and professional manner.
As if everything I’ve already stated isn’t enough, to end the hunt with an amazing 70” bull on the next to last day was just icing on the cake. The bull I killed, so aptly named Whitey, wound up being the #9 SCI bow killed moose and #37 all time in P&Y……talk about a dream come true.
